The Aliens Have Landed!
Aliens have landed in our midst and they’re threatening our natural world! Learn about invasive plants and animals that are wreaking havoc in the Florida Everglades—and those in our own backyard—at the Flint RiverQuarium’s new exhibit, Alien Attack: Target Everglades.
Alien Attack offers a top-ten countdown of the most dangerous plants and animals and their threat to the area's fragile ecosystems. These non-native species are already threatening the Florida Everglades and many are making their way toward Georgia. Live aliens on display include the Burmese python, Nile monitor lizard, Mayan cichlids, exotic frogs, and more.
In addition to live examples of harmful alien species, the Alien Attack exhibit presents vivid photographs of invasive species that might be found in your own backyard, along with recommendations on what can be done to resist the invasion. A few plant examples common in southwest Georgia are Chinese privet, coral ardisia, nandina and Japanese climbing fern.
